6 Tips to heat your camper without electricity

With a little bit of creativity, you can keep your camper warm and toasty even without electricity. So don’t let a lack of power stop you from enjoying your time in the great outdoors!

1. Use Your RV’s propane furnace

If your RV has a propane furnace, you’re in luck! This is one of the most effective ways to heat a camper, and it doesn’t require any electricity. Just make sure you have enough propane on hand to keep the furnace running.

2. Use a portable space heater

Another option is to use a portable space heater. These can be powered by propane, kerosene, or even batteries, making them ideal for off-grid use. Just be sure to follow all safety precautions when using a space heater.

3. Use the camper’s built-in heater

If all else fails, you can always use your vehicle’s heater to heat up your camper. This won’t work as well in larger RVs, but it’s a good option if you’re in a smaller camper or trailer. Just make sure you crack a window to avoid carbon monoxide buildup.

4. Insulate your camper

Another way to keep your camper warm is to make sure it’s well insulated. This will help to trap heat inside and prevent it from escaping. You can add insulation to your camper by installing weatherstripping, using reflective foil, or even adding a layer of foam board insulation.

5. Use a wood stove

If you have a wood stove in your camper, you can use it to generate heat. This is a great option if you’re able to find firewood. Just be sure to follow all safety precautions when using a wood stove.

6. Wear warm clothes to spot heat

Another way to heat your camper is to simply wear warm clothes and focus on spot heating. This means wearing layers of clothing and using blankets or sleeping bags to stay warm. You can also use a hot water bottle or electric blanket to spot heat. Just be careful not to overdo it, as this can be a fire hazard.
